Zhengzhou-Day 1

We had the BEST noodles ever for lunch after arriving in Zhengzhou at the Holiday Inn Express. We have also had some great Gospel discussions with our new-found Christian friends. We met last night (a small group of us) and shared our spiritual experiences and journey to this point in the adoption process as we prepared to pick up our children today. What an incredible journey it has been, and each person who shared theirs had many of the same spiritual confirmations and directions. They are God-fearing people, not afraid to show their faith. They study the scriptures and know them, and use them to guide them. The prayers were heart-felt and sincere, and have brought me so much peace.

I received a blessing yesterday morning from Jake. I had been anxious, but the peace and excitement returned. I am so grateful for the beautiful Sabbath Day we had with our friends and with my parents. We had met with them just before to discuss an Ensign Article on how Trials are God's way of helping us to become like him...to prove ourselves and stretch ourselves, and to grow. Our discussion with the others went right along with it.

When we arrived in Zhengzhou, we were given a sheet with information on Lizzie. It was so neat. She likes sugar, loves to sleep with her Foster Mom, pull other kids ears when she plays, and is active and lively. Sounds perfect for our family. It is all becoming very real.

Time to go and get ready for breakfast, and of course, my little Lizzie.

Friends we met with: Meagan & Jason, Ryan and Katie, Ashley, Mom & Dad, Jake and I, and The Brown Family.
