Beijing-Impressions

The Hotel we stayed in and
Our Guide, George

Beijing was not overcast while we were here, and was much cleaner than we remembered it. It also didn't seem as "Communist"...not as many military groups as we toured.

The traffic is horrible. July is not the time to visit...everyone in China is on Holiday and visiting the Great Wall and Forbidden City. It was crowded, and the streets were even more crowded. However, it is a big, busy, city, but beautiful, and so are the people. Everyone seems so relaxed, yet engaged in life.

Our guide called our very large group, "Sticky Rice." Wherever we went, we was so worried about losing one of us that we didn't get to see as much. He did a great job, though, and we appreciated his knowledge and time. He helped us catch our flight to Zhengzhou on time...a nice, short, 1 hour flight. Now, onto our next adventure.
